I think I've come to the conclusion that armoring up/fighting is more to me than just slapping on some kind of protection and flailing away at someone - just for the sake of fighting.

I found myself far more frustrated at not having my things "just right" than not being able to fight at Warren War.  The helmet liner and strap were not finished, didn't have the legs done (no knee cops), the gorge wasn't fitting right, no sword or shield... and the list goes on...  I could have borrowed the needed items, but it wasn't right.

Where many people want to fight for the sake of the game, I find myself fully enthralled in the goal of creating of the armor, and creating innovative and functional designs that would allow me good movement, articulation, comfort, and looks.  But probably above all else is to design my armor so I can walk away undamaged.  “I'm holding on too tight” Cougar - Top Gun.

So where does that leave me?  I finished the basket-hilt last night, and gave it to my lady to use.  She has her gear and can use it well before me.  The cops came in and can now start building the legs.  While the welder was out I welded up a shield handle, and now just need the hose for the border and a bit of leatherwork to finish it up.  Then it’s strap things on and get started the re-work process.  Who knows where it’ll take me, only time will tell.

Well it' close to that time again for the kids to go back to school. Ally has her kendergarden orientation today and then on the 31st (I think) she has an icecream social. Mathew has a meet the teacher thing on the 5th and then they are both back in school on the 6th. It's been a long summer but in a way it has flown by. I am looking forward to the upcomming school year it should be a nice break I should get about 3-3 1/2 hours a day without kids YAY! I hope the kids both like there teachers that's always one of my big worries about when the school year is getting ready to start. I still need to by them both backpacks as well as mathew some clothes and both of them shoes and socks. Today after ally's orientation she has her 5 year check up and then mathew has a check up with his ENT for his tubes (in his ears). I hate dr's appointments! So hopefully these will be quick and easy.

Leah and I managed to find a baby sitter for an entire weekend away! It was awesome. We planned it the same weekend as a local Pirate Party (for the Puzzle Pirates game we play).  About 40 or so people showed up and while we didn't really know anyone, we managed to have a great time. Most of the people there were quite accepting and just wanted to have fun.

They had a lot of activities planned and we did things like pirate (drunken) bingo, diving for dubloons, and we even had a murder mystery.  Sadly we didn't get much chance to play more puzzle pirates together as I think it would have been lots of fun to go on a pillage together with us all in one room.  However many of the people were saying "We didn't come here to play on the computer!?" *sigh*

I made some new friends (KingPriam, Pixieboot, JonnyReb, Dixy, etc) and also managed to meet and old friend there (Sarrah).  In the end it was a wonderful and much needed break from the kids where we were able to just relax and be kids ourselves.  A special...

I went and had my Math assessment and advising session today.  It went pretty well, I placed where I thought I would (Pre-Calculus 1).  Not bad for 4 years of no school, in my opinion!  I talked with my advisor about my options and length of time and all that.  He said if I were to go for my Associates of Science that I would need to take 5 math courses, a 3-quarter session of Chemistry and a 3-quarter session of Biology or Physics.  He said if I piggy-backed them all and busted my ass, I could do it in two years.  Or, I could take six on-line courses, 2 courses per quarter of Social and Natural Sciences and English and have an Assoc. of Integrated Studies by the end of Spring 2007.  It wasn’t a hard decision to make.  He said if I got that done I could transfer to UW in Fall of 2007 as a Junior and go on to get my Liberal Arts degree.  If I wanted to study science, I can always get a degree in Anthropology, Geology, or any other Soft Science and then have a minor in a Hard Science such as Chemistry or, more likely,...

So, I've talked to Enrollment Services at Cascadia Comunity College. They are not making me reassess my English.  YAY!!Unfortunately, I do need to re-do my Math.  The good news is that because I've been gone so long, they have re-done the structure of their classes.  When I went before, Math 110 (Algebra/Trig) used one book and we went all the way through it.  We then had a separate book for Math 120 (Pre-Calc).  I did not finish my Pre-Calc class.  NOW, they are using the SAME book for BOTH classes.  Which means if I can assess through the class that I completed...I might not HAVE to ever take that 120 class and my math requirement for my AS would be complete...muhawahwaaahahaha.  Now I need to study.  I have until the 22nd to be comfortable with this book that I haven't looked at in 4 years. I can do it...I know I can...if I can only find and remember how to use my graphic calculator...hmmm...where did Talon stash that thing...........

Well the Van is back!

The Dragon thiefs were kind enough to tow the Van at Schucks cloes to my house.  So I can replace the Battery, started, rear view mirror, spare tire and jack.

They did not take the money I left, but they took my camp chair, feast gear, work ID, Crystal moon, as well as the above dragon parts.

Bless the thiefs with ID being found with them...

Have you ever had one of those days when you should never have gotten out of bed?  I woke up this morning to Lucky Charms all over my living room floor.  I got on the internet and discovered somebody had taken $500 out of my checking account from an ATM in California. I had to call the handiman and tell him that the money that I forgot to pay him upon the closing of our house was going to be even later because the bastards took it out of our checking account.   I picked up my snail mail and discovered that my mortgage company randomly changed my loan account from a 30-year fixed to a 15-year balloon mortgage.  I went to pay Aidan's Montessori school tuition from our savings account and discovered the office was randomly closed today.  I was supposed to pay on Friday...but didn't get the notification that it was due until Thursday afternoon.  On the way there, my kids randomly found a hot melted gummy lifesaver and spread it all over themselves and my Jeep.  When we got home, they went into the bathroom to clean...

I'm a little upset with Regis with the upcomming salon closure........... That's right, Regis is closing our salon for a remodel.  It was supposed to take place last May, but they couldn't get their act together.  We were then hoping for June, and gave up in July.  Suddenly last week we are told that the salon will be closing in 2 weeks for a total of 4 weeks.  4 weeks of sitting at home not working...... Oh, we get minimum wage for that month...... whoopee!  Do they NOT understand that the End of August is the back to school rush?  Do they not understand that people who came to us in May and June for blonde streaks NOW want to start going towards fall colors? Originaly it was going to be closed for 2 weeks, 3 at the most..... Aaaarrrrrgggggg!

Now to top it off.  The designer for the new Regis salons obviously ISN'T a stylist.  Our stations are half the current size with 1/4th their drawer capasity.  Our brushes only fit in at an angle.  NO room for women's purses.  The new decor is rather stark and sterile...
