Since I have been back to the Everett salon. I have done awesome hair. I'm not as busy as I would like, but that will start to come as my latest creations start spreading the word of my abilities. (yes, I'm bragging).
I've done cut and color on Identical twins, changing them so that they don't look like one another anymore. One I took almost black with blonde peekaboos through the layers and heavy stripes on top. the other I did a Red star on her crown with black accents underneath.
Last weekend I went to the WestCoast Hair show. the latest trend in hair is BANGS. heavy bangs. Late sixties, early seventies bangs. thick, and blunt and round around the face. Paul Mitchell is making this look their focus this year. but the other major companies, Pravana, Chi, Matrix etc... are doing it as well. After looking through a hair mag. the other day, I was hard pressed to find hair that didn't have bangs....... So I have started using it in the Salon.
Last May, the H.R. manager of Mervys came to me for a foil. It was a great color job. Last week the Manager came to me because what I did to her friend. I achieved the color she liked and then pushed the envelope on her cut, taking it out of the mainstream. She had already had full bangs which were quite long and in her eyes. I cut the bangs in to an arch over the left eye and then took them straight across over the right....... out there I know, but she had beautiful eyes and it drew attention to them.

Observations of a 5-woman team:
I had a chance this past weekend to experience something new. With every new experience come new observations, either about yourself or about the world around you. As adults, these lessons become fewer and farther between because we assume we have a grip on who we are and what we are capable of. We also tend to be afraid of trying new things and expanding our comfort zone. I’ve decided to post what I’ve learned so that others can also benefit from my experience.
Men who are not used to fighting with women amongst their ranks can be intimidated by aggressive women. (Some are even afraid to hit us.) I will be more successful if I can be quick enough to take advantage of their momentary confusion/hesitation.
A three-person wedge DOES work. Commit to your plan.
I can be an effective warrior in a group and as an individual.
I can lead a small group into battle.
The most chivalrous of people are not always knights. (Sometimes it’s the guy who...

Well my leg is killing me! I played softball a few weeks back and pulled a muscle in it. It was nearly healed and feeling good until last monday when I had to play softball again... If I didn't play they would have had to forfeit the game. I couldn't allow that! So I played, but really tried to take it easy on my sore leg. Unfortunately for me, the first time I got to bat I re-pulled it! DAMN! Now it's 8 days later and my leg is still in pain. My entire upper thigh looks like a giant bruise. I decided to go to the doctor just to check and they just gave me some muscle relaxers and ibuprofen.

Well, as Effrick said. The Regional Mangager has put the stop on me moving to the Alderwood salon. One of her excuses was lame, and I will have to speak to her about it. the other had some valitity to it. The Everett salon has lost 4 senior stylists in the last two months. All but 4 of the current stylists are fairly new out of school. I'm hoping that if I'm REALLY good that in a few months or so, I may be welcome to transfer to the Alderwood salon........ Oh well.
The Everett Salon is scheduled to re-open Sept. 8th and will be celebrating with 20% off all services. One good thing about working at Alderwood, is that I was able to pick up a few new clients. : )
