This is about me and my life in general.

Just to ding my own dong...I got a 99% on my geology midterm!! Woot!!! I love online classes, you get your grades back right away!!! I'm getting excited about my graduation in the Spring.  After this quarter, only three classes left: English 102 (which I'm going to hate), Nutrition (which will probably be pretty easy), and World Culture and Heritage (which is basically a history class that doesn't focus on war...should be pretty interesting...)

I think I'll go celebrate by downing a few of those worms Amy and Tim left here!...the c-nutty ones are yummmmy...and SO BIG!!

Observations of a 5-woman team:

I had a chance this past weekend to experience something new.    With every new experience come new observations, either about yourself or about the world around you.  As adults, these lessons become fewer and farther between because we assume we have a grip on who we are and what we are capable of.  We also tend to be afraid of trying new things and expanding our comfort zone.   I’ve decided to post what I’ve learned so that others can also benefit from my experience.

Men who are not used to fighting with women amongst their ranks can be intimidated by aggressive women. (Some are even afraid to hit us.)  I will be more successful if I can be quick enough to take advantage of their momentary confusion/hesitation. A three-person wedge DOES work.  Commit to your plan. I can be an effective warrior in a group and as an individual. I can lead a small group into battle. The most chivalrous of people are not always knights.  (Sometimes it’s the guy who...

I went and had my Math assessment and advising session today.  It went pretty well, I placed where I thought I would (Pre-Calculus 1).  Not bad for 4 years of no school, in my opinion!  I talked with my advisor about my options and length of time and all that.  He said if I were to go for my Associates of Science that I would need to take 5 math courses, a 3-quarter session of Chemistry and a 3-quarter session of Biology or Physics.  He said if I piggy-backed them all and busted my ass, I could do it in two years.  Or, I could take six on-line courses, 2 courses per quarter of Social and Natural Sciences and English and have an Assoc. of Integrated Studies by the end of Spring 2007.  It wasn’t a hard decision to make.  He said if I got that done I could transfer to UW in Fall of 2007 as a Junior and go on to get my Liberal Arts degree.  If I wanted to study science, I can always get a degree in Anthropology, Geology, or any other Soft Science and then have a minor in a Hard Science such as Chemistry or, more likely,...

So, I've talked to Enrollment Services at Cascadia Comunity College. They are not making me reassess my English.  YAY!!Unfortunately, I do need to re-do my Math.  The good news is that because I've been gone so long, they have re-done the structure of their classes.  When I went before, Math 110 (Algebra/Trig) used one book and we went all the way through it.  We then had a separate book for Math 120 (Pre-Calc).  I did not finish my Pre-Calc class.  NOW, they are using the SAME book for BOTH classes.  Which means if I can assess through the class that I completed...I might not HAVE to ever take that 120 class and my math requirement for my AS would be complete...muhawahwaaahahaha.  Now I need to study.  I have until the 22nd to be comfortable with this book that I haven't looked at in 4 years. I can do it...I know I can...if I can only find and remember how to use my graphic calculator...hmmm...where did Talon stash that thing...........

Have you ever had one of those days when you should never have gotten out of bed?  I woke up this morning to Lucky Charms all over my living room floor.  I got on the internet and discovered somebody had taken $500 out of my checking account from an ATM in California. I had to call the handiman and tell him that the money that I forgot to pay him upon the closing of our house was going to be even later because the bastards took it out of our checking account.   I picked up my snail mail and discovered that my mortgage company randomly changed my loan account from a 30-year fixed to a 15-year balloon mortgage.  I went to pay Aidan's Montessori school tuition from our savings account and discovered the office was randomly closed today.  I was supposed to pay on Friday...but didn't get the notification that it was due until Thursday afternoon.  On the way there, my kids randomly found a hot melted gummy lifesaver and spread it all over themselves and my Jeep.  When we got home, they went into the bathroom to clean...

You know you're old when Q13 Fox News uses your favorite song as background music....how could they blaspheme The Cure like that?

You BASTARDS!!

So, my hockey team just won their first game tonight!!!  5 to 3 an I got to play center!! Super fun!   We had played these guys earlier, and had lost 3 to 0.  Come to find out they had a Division 3 goalie...which is like 5 divisions higher than our level of play.  So this time around, they had a fair goalie, we didn't dislocate one of their teammates shoulders and there were no 10 minute penalties for fighting.  Woohoo!! Go Ice Lagers!!!  As soon as I know our teams full season schedule, I'll post it on the forum.  It might be fun for people to see me get my ass beat! :)

I just got a call from my real estate agent, Georgia.  She called to congratulate us on the closing of our house and to see if we've been funded yet. (We haven't...still waiting for the bank to call...).  She also had some new news, she called to tell us she just made the 2006 SeaGals squad.   My real estate agent is a cheerleader.  hehhehehheheheheee.  I just had to share, it struck a funnybone.

Alright...so it has finally come.   My very last day of hell.  Our house is finally closing and I will never have to deal with those poeple ever ever again.  That is a comforting thought.

I actually met them today...well, kind of.  I went over to the house to drop off the mail and garage keys and to do a quick touch up on the house. (after a month of no one living in it, it was getting kind of dusty.)  I was TRYING to be nice.  I had just finished up and had left them a "Welcome Home" basket when they pull up with they're real estate agent to do a last walk-through (their 5th last walk-through).  The real estate agent introduced herself and I explained to her what I was finishing up.  She didn't introduce them and they didn't introduce themselves.  They were going to walk right past me into what was still my house with out even saying hi.  They were ignoring my existance, I just couldn't have that.  The wife wasn't even looking at me, so I cornered the husband and introduced myself.  He seemed nice enough,...

I had a great time at Irene's wedding.  She was SO beautiful.  I was a blubbering slob all weekend.  No, really, ALL weekend...it was pathetic.  I could not get a hold of myself.  I walked into the church, I didn't recognize any of the faces and I was really nervous.  I actually questioned whether or not I was at the right wedding.  Brian, Irene's brother, was the first to spot me.  He told me I should have called to get a ride form the airport, that it was his job to make sure I got here okay.  He said that it was really important to Irene that I was here.  From then on I was a wreck...I didn't know I was still important to her.  So I was escorted down the aisle by some strange guy and sat next to people I didn't know from Jack.  I felt really alone and out of place.  But, the wedding started soon enough and I got to see her walk down the aisle with her brother.  (Her father passed away before she was born.)  The moment I saw her I was waterworks.  All the memories of being with her flooded back and time kind...
